A basket donation for a New Zealand customer
A day before the massive earthquake hit New Zealand on February 21, I received an email from a woman who lives in Christchurch, New Zealand. She had emailed me several months earlier about buying a La Vie Frances basket, but the cost of shipping alone was $70, so she understandably decided against it. In the more recent email, she told me that she wanted to go ahead with the purchase in spite of the crazy-expensive cost to ship. We were working out the details via email when communication stopped . . . and then I heard about the earthquake.
I know I have officially never met Dorothy Motoi of Christchurch, New Zealand, but her emails were so kind, and I am hoping, HOPING she is okay. I have her address, and so I decided to put together a little care package for her. One la vie Frances basket, a couple bars of soap and candles that I made, produce bags, and lavender sachets. I know it is not much, and none of those things are essentials for surviving an earthquake. But I know that she must have really wanted this basket, and it is something that I can easily do. And so, if she is okay, I hope it just makes her smile.
I am accepting donations if you’d like to help, too – please click on the button to donate any amount, however small. Total value of the basket with contents and shipping, etc. . . is $150. I will post when we reach that amount. Thank you!!! Laura
